Kenn Bunn has been a
motorcyclist for over 38 years with over 300,000 miles traveled.
Since 1994, he has dedicated his life to
motorcycle safety instruction. Instructor certifications, awarded by the
Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), to him are the Motorcycle Rider Course:
Riding and Street Skills (MRC:RSS) and the Experienced Rider Course (ERC).
While attending the International Motorcycle Safety Convention, Kenn was
asked to become one of North Carolina's core members to participate in the
MSF's curriculum change to their new Adult Learning Center approach to
motorcycle safety instruction. His certifications were upgraded to
RiderCoach status for the new Basic RiderCourse (BRC), Experienced Rider
Suite (ERC) and most recently, ScooterSchool.
The North Carolina Motorcycle Safety Education Program (NCMSEP) utilized his
skills in the tremendous task of indoctrinating over 200 North Carolina
Instructors to the new MSF programs. Kenn has also conducted MSF Learning
Centers across the state to NCMSEP RiderCoaches to help resolve problems
resulting in the transition to the new program and to help achieve
uniformity in the state's program. Other instructor certifications achieved
by Kenn are for the MSF's DirtBike School and for the Evergreen Council's
Sidecar/Trike Education Program for novice and advanced riders.
A native of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Kenn owned and operated Bi-State Racing
Works from 1982 through 1989. During this period, he was active in
motocross racing, dirt drag racing, asphalt drag racing and road racing
motorcycles. The racing culminated after having obtained a top ten finish
in the National Championship Race at Daytona International Speedway.
Now married and with two school-age children (Wilson and
Savannah), Kenn currently operates Best Bike Training in New Bern, NC. Best
Bike Training specializes in offroad motorcycle safety instruction, and on
road safety instruction for novices and experienced pilots of sidecars and
trikes. The MSF DirtBike School curriculum and The Evergreen Council's
Sidecar/TrikeEducation Program is taught at his facilities. He also gives
Group Riding safety lectures to motorcycle organizations.
